OBJECTIVES (TOP)

The objective of the conference is to bring together Experts, Researchers, Equipment Manufacturers, and Consultants, in order to discuss the latest state of the art in the field of water and wastewater technology. The event is also considered as a high quality trade opportunity meeting, since the participants will be mainly potential users and equipment manufacturers. The meeting is organized within the theme of low cost technology for water treatment, and also preserving the environment by improving water management policies and reducing water pollution through adequate water treatment technologies.
A great emphasis is put upon the desalination technologies as promising technologies for water treatment, development of remote areas, in order to enhance economic growth.

Conference Awards:  (TOP)

There will be six conference financial awards for the best paper in each topic offered by His Royal Highness PRINCE SULTAN BIN ABDULAZIZ International Prize for Water.


CALL FOR PAPERS  (TOP)

During the conference, several technical sessions will be conducted on the following topics:

- Water resources integrated management

- Water resources sustainable development

- Water resources policies in the Arab Region

- GIS and remote sensing applications

- Soil and agricultural issues

 

2.  Hydraulics and Hydraulic Structures:

- Water pipelines and networks

- Water power and turbomachinery

- Water management, control and regulation

- Erosion, scour and sediment transport

- Advances in cross-drainage structures

- Advances in water retaining structures

- Stability and failure of hydraulic structures

- Maintenance and rehabilitation of hydraulic structures

- Hydraulic monitoring, modeling and simulation

 

3.  Desalination Technology:

- Membrane based technologies

- Thermal technologies

- Fouling, corrosion, operation and maintained case studies

- Solar desalination

- Advances in water desalination technologies

 

4.  Water Treatment Technology:

- Wastewater reuse

- Industrial water treatment

- Sanitary drainage treatment

- Computer applications in water treatment

- Purification plants and networks

- Environmental impact and assessment

- Water quality and environmental analysis

 

5.  Water Economics, Legislation and Health Issues:

- Economical value of water

- Socio-economic issues

- Water legislation

 

6.  Water and Health:

- All aspects related to water pollution and health

 

The information will be disseminated through the acknowledged international networks. Technical presentations and applied papers are solicited in the above mentioned areas in English. Full Papers should be sent by December 31, 2008.


The authors of accepted papers will be notified on
January 30, 2009. The full paper on mat must be received by February 15, 2009. The conference will be conducted in English.
